Good things are happening. Here's a list (ranked in the order in which I remember them, not necessarily order of importance or unimportance):

  • My friend D*nmn*R may have a new job (they called him to say quote "It would appear to be a go"--he just has one more appointment to like iron out some HR thingies). This job is actually in his field, pays a whole bunch more, and means that he can stop being "the most ignored person in the most ignored department in the most ignored publishing firm in New York City." His words.
  • C is over. He just made me a whiskey sour with fresh sour mix (he juiced the key limes himself). It's really good.
  • My cousin WON a house. Yeah, a real, full-size, $238,000 house. In her dentist's fundraiser raffle or something. It's about time she got a break, too--she had a master's degree in labor relations, couldn't get a job in her field, and spent most of my childhood working at Pizza Pit, then went to law school and has been an overworked public defender for the last few years. She deserves this, big-time.
  • If you do a Yahoo search for "hiccuping", this diary comes up at number #105. How odd.
  • I had a nice day wandering around the Chicago Botanic Garden with C, five hundred other couples, and at least two wedding parties. We saw a lot of clandestine making out, and tulips. Many tulips. Then I made him take me to the vegan Korean restaurant nearby. All in all, a good Saturday.
