If a cow ever got the chance...

My dad, at the [extremely crowded] Modigliani exhibit in Buffalo, New York, 1/3/02:

"When I retire I'm just going to go to museums all day and look at paintings, like these fogeys!"

(This is the incidentally insulting yet sincere way that everyone in my family talks. Perhaps it contributes to our isolation. Anyway, I was impressed because he clearly has his priorities straight. Anyone who would drive to upstate New York in January, with two feet of snow falling, to visit a contemporary art museum, can be my friend.)
